In Memory of James Shaheen, Sr.

Due to the overwhelming response to the family’s request to send donations to the JC Runyon in lieu of flowers, we are pleased to announce that we will be awarding a James Shaheen, Sr. Memorial Scholarship to a worthy candidate in the fall. James was the father of one of our board members who recently passed away after a long illness. To those of you who have donated, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. It’s not too late to donate! If you would like to contribute to the James Shaheen, Sr. Memorial Scholarship, send a check to: JC Runyon Foundation PO Box 38251, Germantown, TN 38183-3251. Make sure to indicate James Shaheen, Sr. in the memo so it can be deposited into the correct account. Remember, every dollar you send goes directly to pay a student’s tuition or books as all our Board members are volunteers. It is also tax deductible as we are a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization as recognized by the Federal Tax Code.

If you’re a student or you know of a student who has successfully completed an inpatient psychiatric treatment program and will be entering college in the fall, please apply today! We are looking for students who have shown the willingness to overcome incredible obstacles, have shown leadership abilities throughout the recovery process, and might be interested in working in the behavioral health care field some day. Apply today!

Our board consists of professionals in the behavioral health care industry and educators. We understand what you’ve been through, and we have the resources to help.
